When I think of Flagstaff, Arizona, I picture a city in the northern part of the state that is well known for its scenic views, outdoor pursuits, and extensive past. Being the entrance to the Grand Canyon is one of Flagstaff’s most well-known qualities. The community is a popular starting place for tourists to the park as it is only a short drive from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park. From Flagstaff, many tour operators provide guided excursions and transportation to the Grand Canyon.

Mount Humphreys Peak
There is nothing more iconic in Flagstaff than Mount Humphreys Peak. Not only is it the tallest mountain in Arizona (at 12,633 ft.), but the base of its trail is at the Arizona Snowbowl — Arizona’s premier ski resort. In October 2020, I had the privilege of reaching its peak and can confidently say that the view from the top was as glorious as the view from the bottom.
